Thistle Hill was started in 1975 by Dave and Leslie Robertson. They planted out the vineyards on the Thistle Hill side of the property, and Dave made the wine through until he died. The hill off McDonalds road in Erudgere was covered in Milk Thistles and while planting out the vineyard the Robertsons and friends had to remove all the Thistles! That memory remains to this day with the name of the vineyard.
